CASTORID Web Development

ASP.NET

As noted on the Technologies main page, you probably don't have to be concerned about the programming languages, server environments, and so forth that are used for your website. It's our job to make your website work without you having to worry about such things.

We primarily use ASP.NET for dynamic and content-managed web pages for clients whose sites need to run on Windows Server platforms that do not have PHP installed. ASP.NET is an exciting technology from Microsoft that allows rapid development of websites. However, it is only available on Windows servers, which significantly limits its flexibility for many clients.

The ASP in ASP.NET stands for Active Server Pages. ASP.NET is a major departure from ASP, Microsoft's original dynamically generated web page technology. Like PHP, ASP.NET can be used for websites of any scale, from small-scale personal web pages to large corporate e-commerce sites.

As noted above, websites implemented in ASP.NET can only be run on Windows Server platforms. In some cases, such as if you already have a web hosting account that does not include PHP, you may want may want to consider asking us to develop your site using ASP.NET. Additionally, we may suggest ASP.NET if your site's needs would make it a significantly better option. We do not charge differently for ASP.NET development, but clients should be aware that Windows Server hosting is sometimes marginally more expensive than Linux hosting.
